The New York Jets have been focused on adding weapons for Sam Darnold and Adam Gase hints they may not be done.

New York drafted tackle Mekhi Becton and wide receiver Denzel Mims. They also signed four offensive linemen and Breshad Perriman in free agency.

"I know everybody keeps focusing on the wide receivers, which I think is going to be a pretty good group," Gase said. "I look at our tight ends, our running backs, I feel like we're in a good spot. Who knows what will be added from here on out?"

The San Francisco 49ers have acquired Trent Williams from Washington for a 2020 fifth round pick and a 2021 third round pick.

The 49ers moved to trade for Williams after Joe Staley decided to retire. The 49ers entered draft week hoping Staley would return.

Neither the 49ers or Williams are in a rush to sign an extension.

"I think the plan was to land him right now and then let the rest kind of work itself out," general manager John Lynch said. "I think it's always an advantage when you get someone in the building, on your roster. Now you've got a chance. We'll get a really good look at him. We'll see where the rest of our team is at, but right now we are just ecstatic that we were able to pull it off at a really opportune time.

"You're losing a great player like Joe at a very critical position, to be able to have everything line up that he was available right then and for us to be able to land him, I think very fortuitous for us, and we're very excited about that."

Dave Caldwell has rejected the idea that the Oakland Raiders were close to trading for Yannick Ngakoue.

According to Caldwell, the Jacksonville Jaguars didn't receive any offers for the defensive end.

"I think his options are very limited at this point in time," Caldwell said. "We'll welcome him back with open arms when he's ready to come back, and we look forward to it."

The Jaguars placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on Ngakoue worth $17.8 million for 2020. He has not signed the tender and has made it clear he wants the Jaguars to trade him.

The Detroit Lions used the No. 3 pick on Thursday night and Bob Quinn says the team never received a significant offer for the selection.

Detroit selected cornerback Jeff Okudah.

"We had a lot of conversations," Quinn said. "We never got a firm offer. No team put anything on the table. Had multiple conversations with multiple teams. They were kind of fishing around and we were open for business as you guys know, and nothing was ever put out in front of us to evaluate."

The Green Bay Packers traded up from No. 30 to select Jordan Love out of Utah State.

The Packers traded the No. 30 pick and their fourth rounder to the Miami Dolphins.

The Packers selected Aaron Rodgers when Brett Favre was 35 years old. Rodgers is now 36 years old. Green Bay likely couldn't move on from Rodgers until 2022.

The New England Patriots traded out of the first round, sending the No. 23 pick to the Los Angeles Chargers for picks No. 37 and No. 71.

The Chargers used the selection on Kenneth Murray, linebacker out of Oklahoma.

The Chargers valued Murray as roughly equivalent of the 11th overall pick based on what they gave up to the Patriots.

Thursday night's trades

- San Francisco traded No. 13 and No. 245 to Tampa Bay for No. 14 and No. 117.

- New England traded No. 23 to L.A. Chargers for No. 37 and No. 71.

- Minnesota traded No. 25 to San Francisco for No. 31, No. 117 and No. 176.

- Miami traded No. 26 to Green Bay for No. 30 and a fourth-rounder.

Washington has received calls from teams interested in trading up, but they will keep the No. 2 pick.

"They are making the pick… because they love the player who will be there for them," writes Ian Rapoport.

Washington is expected to select Chase Young.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are in trade talks with the Detroit Lions on moving up to No. 3.

The Jaguars own the No. 9 and No. 20 selections in the first round.

The Lions have also held talks with the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins.

O.J. Howard is seeking a trade from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Buccaneers acquired Rob Gronkowski from the New England Patriots this week.

Howard's future with the Buccaneers was already uncertain before the trade for Gronkowski.
